This year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are anticipated to be bigger than ever for online retailers. With more and more shoppers using mobile devices, and many forgoing the chaos of brick and mortar shopping altogether on Black Friday, it becomes increasingly important that online retailers are prepped and ready for the influx of traffic that is coming their way. In order to help our customers prepare for the biggest shopping weekend of the year, we have put together a few tips to ensure you are address

Traffic is huge, even if shoppers don’t make a purchase on their first visit, you now have the opportunity to re-market to those customers. Especially those who have abandoned their carts. Lots of retailers are offering sale pricing, incentives, special offers, and more to lure shoppers into their store. Many shoppers will be comparison shopping, which means they could be adding items to their cart and applying discount codes (if available) just to see how your pricing stacks up against the competition. But, if they’ve put something in their cart, you have the opportunity to send that shopper an abandoned cart email and hopefully convert that casual shopper to a buyer.

If customers do make a purchase, utilizing the Cross-Sell email campaign in Autoresponder Max allows you to offer suggestions to customers with complementary items, providing retailers with an additional upsell opportunity. You can also use the First Purchase email campaign to thank new customers for buying with you for the first time.

Promoting your special offers and sales is critical, too! Retailers can easily use our Newsletter email ampaign to send out notifications of special offers, promotions, offer codes, etc.

Autoresponder Max Newsletter Feature

One of the best tools in the Autoresponder Max toolkit for Black Friday and Cyber Monday is the Newsletter email campaign. We wanted to give extra attention to this campaign, because it is so easy to use. The following is a quick step-by-step to show you just how simple it is to set up a newsletter in Autoresponder Max, advertising your Black Friday or Cyber Monday offers.

1) Log into Autoresponder Max and select the “Newsletter” email campaign

2) Enter the subject, select the scheduled time for the newsletter to deploy, and select your template.  Then click “Create Email Campaign” Note: The “Sale” template is best for Black Friday/Cyber Monday offers.

3) On the next screen, click “Customize Your Campaign”.

4) Customize the newsletter as desired! Once you’ve made your changes, be sure to click “Save Settings”. You can also preview and test your email newsletter by clicking “Preview & Send Test Email”.

5) If you go back to the Dashboard, you will see the Cyber Monday newsletter you just created. Switch the email status to “On” when you are ready to deploy!

That’s all there is to it! You can create separate newsletters for Black Friday, Cyber Weekend, and Cyber Monday, for optimal results. You can set custom timing for each newsletter. For Black Friday, we suggest deploying the email during the early morning hours of Black Friday (2 AM or 3 AM) or even the night before so Black Friday shoppers can organize their shopping hit list after they’ve finished their Thanksgiving dinner. A Cyber Weekend newsletter should go out Saturday morning, around 8 AM, and your Cyber Monday newsletter around 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM when shoppers are back from the holiday break, ready to shop!
